About You:

  • A relevant AQF Certificate III or equivalent overseas qualification including at least two years of on-the-job training
  • Must have a positive skill assessment from the relevant authority.
  • Have above average professional knowledge.
  • Competent in the use of workshop machinery
  • Able to plan and manage your time, able to work to deadlines and changing priorities
  • Be fully compliant with safety and willing to stop and seek out help if your work cannot be performed safely.
  • Attention to detail will be a part of your DNA.
  • Well organised and can work independently.
  • The way you treat our customers’ vehicles will be like it’s your own.
  • Be a big team player and be willing to share the load in busy times.
  • You won’t mind the routine nature of the job, and the rapid changes that can occur in a business like ours.
  • Be able to juggle… work independently across multiple projects or help the team complete a job in quick time.
  • Be able to perform calmly and remain level-headed under pressure.
  • Be able to effectively communicate in English.

The Job:

  • Diesel engine, transmission and component strip/inspect/report, midlife and rebuilds.
  • Maintaining detailed records of stripped and assembled components.
  • Perform mechanical repairs including braking systems, suspensions, and other components.
  • Conduct regular service interval inspections and quality checks.
  • Carry out warranty works as requested.
  • Rebuild suspension components.
  • Fitting metal parts to create products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to build machines and equipment.
  • Studying designs and plans to decide the right materials, methods, and steps for the job, as well as machine settings.
  • Major overhauls in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Shaping metal stock and castings to exact measurements using tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore, and drill metal.
  • Troubleshooting and performing maintenance on machines, as well as overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power systems.
  • Inspecting fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, proper fit, and clearance using precise measuring tools.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and promote a culture of safety within the workshop
  • Cutting, threading, bending, and installing pipes and lines for hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ensure precision and accuracy in all fabrication processes to meet quality standards
  • May assemble machines and equipment on-site.
