The IT Unit provides the core technologies that allow UTS to operate, teach and perform research. ITU is a large diverse organisation that must partner with all areas of the University to ensure that technology needs are addressed in a cost effective, sustainable, and secure manner.

About the role

We have an opportunity for a Performance & Reliability Manager to monitor and enhance the performance, consistency and reliability of the university's IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.

In this role you will focus on the seamless operation and continuous improvement of technology infrastructure to deliver an exceptional user experience for all stakeholders.

You will have

  • Relevant knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training, and/or experience
  • Proficiency in monitoring and analysing system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimisation strategies
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategies to ensure the reliability and availability of IT systems, minimising downtime, and disruptions
  • Demonstrable ability to lead incident response efforts, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to mitigate performance-related incidents
  • Strong understanding of hardware, network, and cloud resources optimisation
  • Extensive track record of successful collaboration with vendors to manage SLAs and address performance-related issues
  • Proficiency in designing and executing performance testing scenarios to identify potential bottlenecks and ensure system readiness
  • Strong leadership skills to lead and mentor teams
  • Effective communications skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

What we offer

Base Salary Range: $138,882 to $145,495 (HEW9)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

The position is full-time and will be made on a continuing basis.
