We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor / Professor of Canine and Feline Internal Medicine to join our dynamic team at James Cook University. This is a unique opportunity to lead and contribute to veterinary education, research, and clinical practice in small animal internal medicine.
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this pivotal role, you will have the chance to shape the future of animal healthcare education and research. You will be responsible for developing and delivering cutting-edge curricula, fostering a stimulating learning environment for aspiring veterinary students, and contributing to groundbreaking research initiatives in the field of canine and feline internal medicine.
- Lead and deliver innovative teaching in canine and feline internal medicine at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Conduct and publish high-impact research in small animal internal medicine.
- Provide specialist clinical services in our veterinary teaching hospital.
- Secure competitive research funding and foster collaborations with industry and academic partners.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the veterinary curriculum and clinical training programs.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A PhD and/or board certification (e.g., ACVIM, ECVIM) in small animal internal medicine.
- A strong track record in research, with a history of securing funding and publishing in high-impact journals.
- Extensive teaching experience, including curriculum development and student supervision.
- A commitment to clinical excellence and advancing veterinary medicine through research and innovation.
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
