About the Role
The Internal Auditor ensures that organisational processes; and the goods and services that result; comply with the requirements of required standards and reports to the Children’s Services Director regarding possible improvements and corrections. The role of internal audit is to provide independent assurance that a service meets risk management, governance and internal control processes are operating effectively and meet the appropriate regulations.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Develops annual audit plan for Communities@Work, considering the requirements of Children’s Services.
- Performs preliminary planning and establishes direction for audits, in consultation with the Director, Children’s Services.
- Manages schedule and execution of audit assignments, ensuring appropriate audit planning, use of relevant documentation and developing audit reports.
- Coordinates and interacts with managers and staff, as well as with the external audit and regulatory bodies, as required, as well as interacting with clients and suppliers, to fulfilled audit objectives of the assigned program area.
- Consults with and advises administrators, managers, and staff on operational and administrative issues identified during the audit
- Stays up to date with new and changed policies and procedures, including changes to regulatory ratings, as well as builds general awareness of local, state, and federal laws, as applicable.
- Coordinates and interacts with external auditors, where deemed necessary.
- Delivers quality Internal Audit reports with value-adding insights, issues and recommendations
- Prepares and presents internal audit report that accurately reflects audit results, supported by clearly documented and communicated internal auditing process.
- Supports compliance reporting, monitoring of corrective actions and preventative actions.
- Contributes to Internal Audit strategic planning, supported by awareness and understanding of business risks, related to areas undergoing compliance checks.
What We Need from You
- Maintain current ‘Working with Vulnerable People’ registration
- Early Childhood Approved Qualification (Diploma or above)
- Familiarity with risk-based audit methodology
- Audit report writing skills
- Communication and presentation skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, outcome-focused.
- Strong stakeholder management
- Current Driver’s Licence
