Viking Imports is a family owned specialty food importer and distributor. We supply premium products to Australia’s leading independent retailers, major supermarket chains and specialty delicatessen shops. We are also a boutique 3PL cold storage warehouse based in Prestons, servicing clients of all sizes.

We are now looking for 3 permanent reliable warehouse all rounders that are motivated to learn and want to enjoy their workplace. We have a dedicated team that really enjoys working here and are looking to add new members to our NSW team.

As mentioned there are two roles available:

• Picker/Packer with no forklift licence, but has picker/packer experience ideally working in cold storage and food
• Forklift driver with experience working in cold storage / food environment would be the ideal candidate

Picker/Packer - The Role

Day to day, you will be picking and packing orders within our warehouse in Prestons. You will be working within freezer, chiller and ambient environments.

Overall your responsibilities will include:

• Picking & Packing accurately
• Unloading pallet containers and trucks using an electric pallet jack
• Completing daily paperwork
• Working within a team

Additionally, you will need to be at the warehouse at 6am with your shift generally finishing up around 2pm, Monday to Friday. There’s occasional Saturday hours too. We are also looking and open to a later shift starting at 10am-6pm.

Forklift Operator - The Role

Day to day, you will be loading and unloading trucks and containers, putting away stock and replenishing stock for the rest of the team.

Overall your responsibilities will include:

• Goods In Dock Receiving and on grade access
• Goods Out using Dock and on grade access
• Container unloading (palletised), forklift operation - loading / unloading trucks
• Attention to detail with paperwork, checking off quantities, dates and lot codes
• Stock Putaway and Stock replenishment

What you bring to the table

The successful candidates will have:

• Experience as a Picker/Packer (ideally in food / cold storage environment)
• Forklift License and experience (ideally in food / cold storage environment)
• Good written, verbal and numeric skills
• A team player approach
• Experience working in a freezer environment (preferred, but not essential)
• Reliable transport
• Available for early starts (6am) - Potential afternoon shift (10am-6pm)
• Strong attention to detail
• A naturally organised approach
• Ability to follow instructions and guidelines: (in your cover letter when applying, please add the phrase “I want to be a Viking!”)
