About the Program

To be eligible to apply for this position under the program, applicants need to:
- Have been engaged by Curtin as a casual academic in the last two years
- Be a teaching academic with experience teaching at least two terms in the last two years within higher education in Australia

About this Opportunity
The School of Education is seeking to enhance its capacity and leadership in Indigenous Education through the appointment of 3 x Continuing Academics. Appointed as Senior Lecturer (ALC), these academics will undertake teaching and research. You will need to be passionate about delivering high-quality, modern and innovative teaching and scholarship, and knowledgeable about how that teaching and scholarship (a) informs quality pre-service teacher and/or early childhood education, (b) supports students, teachers, administrators, academics, community members and policymakers to understand and act on their agency, (c) works to include language, culture and pedagogical traditions of First Nations people, and (d) advocates for equity and excellence in education.

Please indicate your relevant experience and expertise in one or two of these subject areas at early childhood, primary, secondary and/or tertiary levels. Your application should include a cover letter, your CV and a separate document addressing the selection criteria (noted within the Academic Role Statement or below) to allow us to assess your suitability for this role.
Essential Criteria
- A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline or working towards.
- Proven high-level teaching skills with a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching and learning.
- A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
- An emerging record of peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and unit/course coordination.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead teaching and learning initiatives.
- Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
