We are looking for our next Horticulturalist/ Greenkeeper to join our recreation crew!

What does the role offer?

• Monday - Friday roster
• $31.51 - $34.92p/hour (inclusive of allowances) + 11.5% super
• 38-hour work week - hours 6:30am - 3:45pm
• Guaranteed 30 minute per day overtime (reviewed annually)
• Permanent, full-time role

What is this role responsible for?

1. Working with other team members to provide general gardening and greenkeeping services as programmed (both maintenance and improvements).
2. Maintain all Council ovals, parks and gardens to Council standards - line marking, care of surfaces (curating), weed control, turf etc.
3. Operate plant and equipment e.g. mower, tractor, whipper snipper etc.
4. Install and repair underground drainage, sprinklers and reticulation to maintain the optimum condition of Council's ovals, parks and gardens.

What will you bring?

1. Certificate III in Horticulture or related discipline.
2. Current industry knowledge and demonstrated experience in general gardening, grounds and turf maintenance, landscaping, and installation of water reticulation systems.
3. Proven ability to exercise judgment, think critically, problem-solve, and prioritize tasks.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to team goals.
5. Experience in continuous improvement and a willingness to embrace and implement change.
6. Proven experience with horticulture plant, equipment, and spraying.
7. Current Class MR driver's license.
