In our friendly and inclusive Allied Health team, you, as the Allied Health Assistant, will be required to implement client-specific treatment plans, and create resources for clients and families under the supervision of our Speech Language Pathologists, and other specialised Allied Health professionals.

The AHA will be required to work within a flexible, transdisciplinary structure alongside other Therapy and Family Services employees to ensure our valued clients’ and families’ needs are met and supported.

Located in our Yeerongpilly office, your main responsibility will be to help bring harmony and smooth operation to our clients, and our programs through effective coordination and administration.

As a valued Allied Health Assistant, you may be required to work in a variety of settings, which could include Deaf Connect offices, clinics, Tele-practice, playgroups, children’s homes, and community settings such as childcare centres, kindergartens, and schools.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Interact with the families and clients in a manner that considers the needs of the client first and follows the treatment plan outlined by the client’s allied health professional supervisor
  • Prepare therapy resources under the supervision of an allied health professional.
  • Communicate effectively with allied health professionals and other stakeholders involved in the client’s support services. Report back to the supervising allied health professional on the client’s progress towards goals in their treatment plan.
  • Complete treatment notes outlining clients’ progress towards goals and additional observations made by the AHA.
  • Attend Deaf Connect events and playgroups to provide support under the supervision of an allied health professional.

About You

  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current Queensland WWCC and NDIS Worker Screening Card
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
  • Current driver’s license

You should also let us know if you have these other great skills:

  • Auslan language skills
  • Certificate in Allied Health Assistance
  • Early Childhood qualification or experience
