About The Role:
In this role, you will collaborate with the Program Service Leader to develop and implement program structures and weekly activities. Your responsibilities will include conducting inductions and training sessions, facilitating performance evaluations, and maintaining prompt communication with stakeholders. Additionally, you will manage administrative tasks such as petty cash and incident reporting, while providing trauma-informed care to children and young people facing complex behavioural challenges and trauma backgrounds.
About You:
The ideal candidate is experienced in residential youth work, passionate about working with children and young people, being a strong role model, doesn’t take things personally, and can help the children and young people explore themselves and their culture with good personal values.
Availability Required
As a Senior Youth Worker, you must be able to do this schedule:
Example of the Senior Youth Worker roster;
Week 1 -
Monday: 8am – 4pm (8hours)
Tuesday: Off/No Shift
Wednesday: Off/No Shift
Thursday: 4pm – 10pm + Sleepover / 6am – 8am
Friday: Off/No Shift
Saturday: 8am – 4pm (8hours)
Sunday: 8am – 4pm (8hours)
Week 2-
Monday: 8am – 4pm (8hours)
Tuesday: 4pm – 10pm + Sleepover / 6am – 8am
Wednesday: 4pm – 10pm + Sleepover / 6am – 8am
Thursday: Off/No Shift
Friday: 8am – 4pm (8hours)
Saturday: Off/No Shift
Sunday: Off/No Shift
What’s On Offer:
- Permanent part-time employment (minimum 30 hours per week contract)
- Sleepover allowance
- Attractive pay rate at SCHADS level 3.4, plus superannuation.

- No use of personal vehicles whilst on shift

Qualifications / Requirements:
- Certificate IV or higher in Youth Work or Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar
- Proven experience in residential care
- Current Blue Card
- Current Australian driver's license
- Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain
- Proven experience in leading and developing staff
