Barcoo Shire Council, located in the remote and picturesque Channel Country of Western Queensland, serves a community of approximately 265 residents across 61,974km². The Shire includes the towns of Jundah, Windorah, and Stonehenge and is known for its strong sense of community, stunning natural landscapes, and diverse economic activities, including beef production, tourism, and emerging oil and gas industries.

As the Director of Works & Services, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for delivering essential infrastructure, managing assets, and overseeing projects that support the Shire’s growth and sustainability. This role is more than operational leadership—it is about building strong relationships with the community, working closely with stakeholders, and ensuring services reflect local needs. You will oversee key projects, including road maintenance, water operations, and airport management, ensuring they are delivered effectively and in line with legislative requirements.
