Position Overview:

As a Maintenance Fitter Apprentice, you will be part of a supportive team responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure the smooth operation of our production facility. This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience and formal training, leading to a nationally recognized qualification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Learn and perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of machinery.
• Participate in scheduled plant inspections and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
• Work closely with experienced fitters and supervisors to develop technical skills.
• Complete on-the-job and classroom training as part of the apprenticeship program.
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Interest in mechanical systems and aptitude for problem-solving.
• Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to challenges.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
• Previous experience in a similar environment is an advantage but not required
  

Requirements:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Eligible to work in Australia.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including manual handling.
• Flexibility to work across various shifts if required.
• Ability to work in a meat production environment, which includes exposure to blood, animal by-products, and strong odors.
