Job tasks and responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic lab technician with the ability to perform consistent high quality analytical testing of manufactured products.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, your main duties are:

• internal audits
• compliance with regulatory licenses (TGA, FDA and APVMA)

• Conducting daily analysis of samples by following established testing protocols
• Completion of analytical sheets and preparation of certificate of analysis.
• Performing calibration and servicing of laboratory equipment
• Inspection of manufacturing equipment and facilities after cleaning by production staff
• Adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Assist Quality Manager in:
• Ordering laboratory consumables

Other responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Follow company policies, procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
• Maintaining a clean and organised laboratory

Skills and experience

To be successful in this position, you must have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and initiative to learn. You must also be a team player.

The following qualifications are required:

• Diploma or degree in chemistry, nanotechnology or a related science
• Following instructions, a demonstrated ability to work independently with good time management and prioritizing skills
• At least 1 year experience in the chemical or related industry is desirable but not essential
• Above average communications skills both verbally and written
• Understanding of statistical methods for analytical and sampling accuracy
• Proficient in titrations methodology
• Knowledge in the use of XRD, Microscopy, Rheology and Laser diffraction for Particle characterisation. Desirable but not essential
• Knowledge of the regulatory requirements
• Computer competency
• Drivers license
• Permanent residency with no work visa restrictions

This is a full time permanent position.

Hours : 6.30am - 3.00pm (Mon), 6:30am-2.30pm(Tue - Fri) - 38 Hours.

Occasional overtime, afternoon shift and weekend work are also available.
