- Clerk Grade 11/12 with salary ranging from $145,378 to $168,130 + super and annual leave loading

About the role
The Manager Participation and Access leads a team delivering critical policy, project and other general management functions as part of the Equity and Inclusion Branch in Early Childhood Outcomes.
The Participation and Access team has a focus on inclusive early childhood education and care. The team work on a number of initiatives that aim to increase early childhood education engagement with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children with disability and additional needs, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and those experiencing socio-economic disadvantage. This includes the design and development of complex policy initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives and government commitments, as well as the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of projects and initiatives.
This position is targeted to the employment of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is authorised by the Department's EEO Management Plan in accordance with Part 9A of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. About you
As the ideal candidate you will have the below skills and experience:
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage and oversee a portfolio of strategic projects, ensuring milestones and outcomes are met.
- Proficiency in identifying and managing project risks, resolving issues, and ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and motivating policy and project teams to achieve key deliverables and outcomes.
- Ability to foster a collaborative work environment and ensure teams are aligned with organizational goals.
- Experience in managing a range of strategic projects, overseeing the implementation of initiatives, and monitoring progress to ensure alignment with organizational goals and government priorities.
- Previous experience in leading, managing, and developing teams of professionals, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring that teams meet strategic objectives.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing strategies for monitoring the effectiveness of policies, programs, and projects, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders to inform and deliver policy and project objectives.
- Commitment to principles of diversity and inclusion and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
Essential requirements of the role
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check) for paid employment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and the ECE First Steps Strategy to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people and support Aboriginal children and families in NSW.
