Our company specialises in restoration services, predominately flood, fire and mould remediation/restoration works to the insurance and private sectors across Australia. An opportunity has opened for a new Restorations Technician to join our team in South Australia.

We provide a 24/7 make safe service, to attend to emergency claims for the insurance industry, including but not limited to, water damage restoration, mould restoration and fire restoration works.

Job Description:

We are looking for someone who enjoys a varied work environment and work day, to take on our Restoration Technician role, someone who is able to take part in emergency call outs and over time when presented.

Roles and responsibilities

• Attending commercial and domestic properties to undertake restoration services (CAT 1,2 & 3 water, fire and mould remediation)
• Travel from site to site, assessing properties and contents affected by an insurable event, with the capability to adhere to a schedule
• Carry out carpet cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, vinyl and hard floor care, upholstery cleaning etc.
• Ability to travel rural or domestically if required
• Ability to undertake work outside of normal business hours as required, and weekend rotation for emergency call outs
• Use of tablet to accurately record and report on job information and general administration duties relating to jobs
• Daily completion and tracking of job paperwork and other necessary paperwork
• Customer service
• Liaising with customers regarding their claims or booking times
• Capable of identifying construction types/materials and identifying resulting and existing damages
• Undertake takes of removal or demolition of building materials as required
• Packing of vehicles to ensure appropriate equipment is being carried
• Ability to lift and relocate contents items if required
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe job site
• Maintenance and cleaning of equipment and warehouse
• General vehicle maintenance and cleaning

Restoration Services can include, but are not limited to;

• The ability to conduct an initial inspection/assessment and begin making the affected areas safe
• Water extraction or steam cleaning to affected items - carpet, upholstery, rugs
• Contents packing and relocation
• Contents and building cleaning/restoration and assessment
• Set up of drying equipment to efficiently dry and monitoring
• Striping of building materials, such as flooring, gyp rock, insulation etc
• Pressure washing
• On site problem solving
• Mould remediation and antimicrobial application

Requirements:

Education, experience, and skills:

The following education and experience would be preferred but not essential

• Experience in insurance restoration and/or construction
• Knowledge of OH&S procedures and SWMS
• Experience in carpet cleaning and floor services
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Time management skills
• Great customer service
• Basic knowledge in Microsoft office computers and android systems. knowledge of Tradify, Ensureflow systems and Encircle is desired.
• High attention to detail
• Reliable and punctual
• High level of personal presentation and hygiene
• Ability to follow instructions and willingness to learn
• Self motivated and able to work in a team or by yourself

Licenses and clearances

• Australian drivers license (ability to drive manual)
• Police clearance or able to obtain
• Working with children/venerable person clearance or able to obtain
• IICRC qualifications preferred or be willing to undergo these training courses

Physical requirements

• Must be able to lift heavy items, range between 30-50kg on a regular basis (restoration machinery)
• Worksites may be contaminated with heavy smoke residue, mould and mildew, contaminated water, or other unsanitary conditions. Required PPE gear is available for use and is require on some heavily contained work sites
