About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Tool Storeman to join our team at an open-cut mining operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the workshop's tooling inventory, ensuring all tools are maintained, tested, and ready for use, and coordinating repairs and servicing as required.

This role requires a proactive, safety-conscious individual with strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with SAP software and Microsoft Office programs is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all tooling, ensuring stock levels meet operational demands.
• Tool Maintenance & Testing: Regularly inspect, test, and maintain tools to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Repairs & Servicing: Coordinate the repair and servicing of workshop tooling, liaising with external suppliers when necessary.
• Issue & Return of Tools: Oversee the distribution and return of tools, ensuring accountability and proper use.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all tooling meets mine site safety regulations and procedures.
• System Management: Utilize SAP software and MS office programs to manage repairs and generate repair orders.
• General Housekeeping: Maintain a well-organized and efficient tool store area.

Requirements:

✅ Previous experience in a similar role within the mining or heavy industry sector.
✅ Strong knowledge of tooling used in mining maintenance workshops.
✅ Ability to perform basic servicing, testing, and calibration of tools.
✅ Proficiency in SAP software and Microsoft Office programs (highly desirable).
✅ Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
✅ High regard for workplace safety and compliance.
✅ Valid driver’s license (HR license advantageous).

✅Valid forklift license or willingness to obtain.

✅Current coal board medical and Standard 11 induction.
