We are a small, innovative Toowoomba based company specialising in sales and remanufacture of hydraulic components. We have earned an enviable reputation for high quality work and standard of service in the hydraulic industry.

We are currently seeking an energetic workshop assistant to join our busy team. The ideal applicant will be mature minded with a strong mechanical aptitude, be physically fit (able to stand all day), be prepared to follow strict quality assurance procedures and have a high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.

This is an interesting and varied role with the core function of assisting our skilled technicians by cleaning parts and components which is predominantly done by use of automated equipment and associated chemicals.

Responsibilities and requirements of the role include, but not limited to -

• Clean parts and componentry for overhauls;
• Operate ultrasonic and parts washing equipment;
• Spray paint overhauled components;
• Assist with disassembly of components;
• Package items for transport in accordance with company requirements;
• Ensure accurate records are kept for incoming and outgoing items;
• Collect and deliver local items;
• Load and unload freight;
• Monitor workshop consumables, ensuring stocks are replenished;
• Carry out workshop equipment safety checks;
• Maintain cleanliness of workshop and equipment;
• Maintain yard, eg mowing, whipper snipping and general tidying.
• Maintain cleanliness of amenities and office areas;
• General workshop assistance tasks as required;
• Maintain a safe working place.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

1. Manual driver’s license and forklift license (essential);
2. Strong mechanical aptitude;
3. Ability and willingness to learn the operation of modern parts cleaning equipment, including safe use and storage of associated chemicals (training is provided).
4. Organisational ability to enable you to plan and prioritise parts cleaning jobs in consultation with workshop technicians as well as to efficiently co-ordinate the parts cleaning processes using automated equipment.
5. Interpersonal skills necessary to work in a small team environment.
6. Motivation to follow through with set tasks, without constant monitoring.
7. Sound literacy and numeracy skills;
8. Personal pride in doing a job well;
9. Basic computer skills;
10. Commitment and ability to adhere to strict Company safety policies.
