About the Opportunity

As part of the City Operations Program the Technical Officer Workshops will provide high level professional, technical and procedural advice to the Work Group Leader & Team Leader and ensure that the scheduling of mechanical servicing and repairs of the City of Adelaide’s plant and fleet portfolio is delivered to expected standards.

In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, scheduling and coordinating of maintenance works and superintendence and reporting of contracts as well as provision of advice to the Trades and Facilities Leadership Team. You will be someone who works with best practice processes and methodology for programming and scheduling of work.

You will also be working on developing and maintaining documentation & specifications to engage contractors and provide contractor surveillance for projects to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated skills in Work programming and scheduling, performance measurement and documentation of service standards.
  • Proven experience and success in monitoring contracts together with the ability to negotiate to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Ability to review processes and procedures applied to improve service delivery.
  • Knowledge of contemporary management practices for Fleet and plant maintenance.
  • Demonstrated skills in developing contract specifications to engage contractors and provide contractor surveillance for programs to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
