About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy to join our Department of Allied Health to enhance the quality of occupational therapy education and research at Swinburne and provide a strong commitment to curriculum development, academic teaching, and research activity in our post-graduate occupational therapy program.

As the Lecturer, OT you will convene and teach into various units in the Master of Occupational Therapy program, develop and manage industry partnerships and conduct research. You will be responsible for carrying out educational and curriculum development of both online and on campus learning materials and assessments in occupational therapy, as well as facilitate the overall coordination of units, including teaching and marking assessments.

In this role, you will be expected to develop and contribute to research activities in the School of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy and/or pedagogy and will be expected to carry out appropriate activities that will maintain and develop your scholarly, research and/or professional expertise. There are ample opportunities for collaborations within both Health Science and throughout the wider university. You will be supported in your career development through access to the innovative programs occurring throughout the university.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Expertise in musculoskeletal or neurological or mental health occupational therapy practice across the lifespan.
  • Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, curriculum development, and coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain links with health care providers, community and industry.
  • Demonstrated creation of leading edge/best practice education, including flexible delivery formats and/or simulations in the learning environment is preferred.
  • Demonstrated capacity to supervise students working on projects, conducting research, or in clinical environments is desirable.
  • A track record of publications in occupational therapy, a capacity to communicate research outcomes, and a demonstrated commitment to ongoing research activities within the field is preferred.

Qualifications

  • AHPRA registered occupational therapist (essential)
  • A doctoral or masters qualification in occupational therapy or related field or enrollment in a doctoral program (preferred)
