About the Academy

Flinders University Academy strives to be the pathway provider of choice for students seeking to study a University Degree in South Australia. As a wholly owned, independently run subsidiary of Flinders University, the Academy delivers Flinders University’s suite of pathway courses – ELICOS, Foundation, Diploma and Pre-Masters – using innovative, specialised teaching techniques within a highly supportive environment.

The Academy provides international students with everything they need to grow, achieve, and succeed. We understand how important it is for pathways students to study in a safe, nurturing environment, one that provides the best possible student experience. We are committed to supporting our students throughout their educational journey, providing a dynamic experience at the heart of Flinders, and a seamless transition between their pathway and degree courses.

About the Role

The Recruitment Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Academy's ambitious student recruitment strategy, working in close collaboration with the Flinders International team.

Under the broad direction of the Director & Principal, the Recruitment Manager will take primary responsibility for managing all aspects of marketing, international student recruitment and admissions for the Academy. You will develop strong relationships with the Flinders International marketing & recruitment team, international agents, and partners to grow enrolments in the Academy’s pathway course suite.

The position may require you to undertake interstate and international travel as required, including an expectation of working outside normal hours with restrictions on taking leave during peak work periods.

  • Take responsibility for developing and managing international recruitment plans and activities for the Academy, ensuring that recruitment initiatives and resources are measured, evaluated, and aligned to achieving student recruitment targets.
  • Provide day to day leadership and direction for a small recruitment and admissions team within the Academy working closely with Flinders international recruitment and admissions teams.
  • Represent the Academy and its recruitment goals within Flinders international recruitment team, ensuring alignment, engagement and the implementation of proactive recruitment strategies targeting pathways students.
  • Contribute to the development of new initiatives that are aligned to market to raise the profile of the Academy and Flinders University and attract prospective international students to study at the Academy and University.
  • Develop and maintain excellent collaborative working relationships with strategic partners and external stakeholders including agents, offshore partners, government ministries, scholarship bodies, and internal stakeholders including Colleges and other university units. Key to this will be engagement with education recruitment agents and managing their recruitment performance.
  • Responsibility for high end customer service delivery to clients and relevant stakeholders that are positioned to promote the Academy within the international student recruitment arena.
  • Professionally and appropriately representing the Academy at relevant events (forums, international recruitment events & roadshows, etc.) at local, national, and international levels.
  • Where appropriate, providing direction, advice, and advisory support to in-country representatives.
  • Managing the operational budgets for the Academy’s recruitment activities in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with the ESOS Act and the National Code and with other relevant legislation related to marketing and recruitment.
  • Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the role as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the Academy.

The role is a two-year fixed term contract.
