About the Role

You may be assigned to different sections of the laboratory based on your experience. Their primary objective is to become an integral part of the histopathology and clerical team, contributing to the production of high-quality, accurate, and timely work. Additionally, your responsibilities may include routine equipment maintenance, handling the transport of bulk fluids to and from the laboratory, preparing laboratory reagents, and managing stock replenishment or ordering as needed.

Duties may include:

• Specimen setup
• Tissue Block Filing
• Slide Filing
• Preparation of laboratory reagents
• Tissue/Slide processing machine changes
• Retrieving slides/blocks for meetings when required
• Bulk fluid transport from liquid store

Classifications for this position will range from IV18 - IV9 ($57,000 - $65,755 per annum).

Your Contribution

You must have a minimum of VCE or equivalent and with a good understanding of Biological Sciences or a Science Diploma.

• Good understanding of routine histopathology laboratory practice would be beneficial
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately and reliably
• Current National criminal history check

Our laboratory is committed to providing the most comprehensive range of diagnostic services available, it is N.A.T.A. and R.C.P.A. accredited.

The consultants are specialists in a wide range of histological, molecular and cytopathological investigations.

They are supported by medical scientists with considerable experience in all areas of anatomical pathology.
