    About this Community Based Role:
  • In partnership with community, you will develop and implement community capacity building projects that encourage First Nations Australians with disability to enjoy equitable quality of life.
  • Identify culturally appropriate, mainstream services for people living with disability.
  • Promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
  • Provide support and linkages to community organisations for those not eligible for the NDIS.
  • Collaborate with regional stakeholders to enhance access and inclusion.

About You:

  • Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Must be willing to undertake a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History check.
  • Proven experience in community development
  • Understanding of community capacity building
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Great people skills, excellent written communication, and time management
  • Lived experience or experience caring for someone with a disability (not essential, but a good bonus)
  • Holder of a current driver's license, or probationary license, with access to reliable transport
