The Company

Our client is a highly regarded listed Technology company with stability, high sequential growth, and an experienced team. They have offices throughout Australia and in this instance, they are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner / Finance Manager in Canberra, ACT. This a permanent, full-time position based in the office 4-5 days per week with flexibility.

As a result of an internal promotion, this opportunity is available for one of the company's divisions, overseeing the complete accounting function for a subsidiary with a $30+ million revenue.

The organisation places significant investment in its personnel, operational procedures, and technology, and is actively engaged in multiple initiatives aimed at enhancing every facet of their operations.

Duties include:

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee and review all work performed by accountants
• Manage the month-end close process, including but not limited to:
• Review and approve all month-end journal entries and all accounting records to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial reports
• Review of profit and loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition including review of work in progress (WIP)
• Intercompany loan reconciliation
• Analysis of actual results versus forecast and budget
• Preparation of month-end reporting package
• Manage cash flow and working capital
• Coordinate the annual budgeting process

Business Partnering & Analysis

• Present monthly financial results to management team
• Explain variances and trends in financial performance
• Weekly forecast and discussion with management team
• Partner with project managers to review project profitability
• Monitor KPIs and prepare management reports
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings
• Provide BU's data to support group compliance and statutory reports, including payroll tax, BAS, payment times reporting etc.

System & Process Improvement

• Support data and system migration projects
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Document and maintain financial procedures
• Support team members on new systems and processes

About you:

The ideal candidate will come from a professional services or Big 4 background and have the ability to engage confidently with a variety of stakeholders.

• CA qualified essential
• Preference will be given to candidates from professional services Big 4/Second tier
• Strong communication skills
• Exposure to large ERP systems such as SAP/Oracle/NetSuite or MS Dynamics
• Advanced Excel

The role is based in Canberra, ACT, and therefore this role will appeal to candidates located in this Region. Our client is not looking at relocation options at this stage.
