About the role
At Absolute Care & Health, the Community Nurse is an integral part of the clinical team, providing nursing services to clients in the community, predominantly in their home.
No two days are ever the same as you spend your time on the road, completing nursing visits and interacting with clients and their families. Nursing services may include nurse assessments, wound care, injections and medicines, suture and staple removal, cervical collar care and general nursing care. Insertion of catheters, changing of catheters and continence assessments (with appropriate qualifications.)

In-home support is an essential service, and we are continuing to operate during COVID-19 with best-practice infection control and enhanced risk mitigation procedures.

Absolute Care & Health has provided nursing services, in-home care and support and for nearly 12 years. We deliver services for people through the NDIS (disability support), My Aged Care (Home Care Packages), Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and After-Hospital Support Programs. We work across Metro Melbourne, Greater Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula.
We are a supportive and close-knit team with a shared goal of providing the best in-home support services for all clients. We offer job flexibility, continued education opportunities and the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of people with a disability.
We are looking for people with….
- General nursing experience
- Excellent communication with clients and other stakeholders
- Clinical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Excellent time management
- A passion for working in the community!
You’ll also need…
- AHPRA registration
- Full drivers’ licence
- Current National Police Check
- Employee Working with Children Check
- NDIS Screening Clearance
- x3 Covid Vaccination Proof
