About the role
WorkPac is seeking a Mining Engineer with expertise in mine planning, scheduling, and reporting. In this role, you will contribute to the development of mining plans, utilizing available orebody information to optimize ore extraction. You’ll monitor variances against mine schedules and engage with mine operations to ensure alignment with objectives. You will play an integral role in improving mine planning processes, collaborating with technical teams, and participating in risk assessments.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in developing mining plans based on available orebody information to support short, medium, and long-range planning, ensuring optimized ore extraction.
- Monitor and report variances against short and medium-term mine schedules.
- Collaborate with mine operations and seek peer review to ensure design work is aligned with objectives.
- Maximize the economic potential of orebody designs.
- Utilize change management systems to drive continuous improvement in mine planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Work closely with Mine and Plant Operations to optimize plans.
- Participate in technical risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks to mining operations.
Skills & Experience required
- Proficiency in mine planning software and the ability to optimize mining plans across various time horizons.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor performance and propose solutions to optimize schedules.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Adaptability and a commitment to continuously improving mine planning processes.
- Strong commitment to safety principles and practices, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
