- Salary commencing at $41.81 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation, based on skills and experience
- Monthly RDO and hybrid working arrangements available

Council is seeking a Statutory Planner to provide quality specialist services, guidance and advice in all facets of statutory planning, subdivision control and other services provided by the Statutory Planning Department.
Responsibilities
Consider and process minor to mid-range complexity development and use, signage, variation / removal of restrictive covenant and easement planning applications in accordance with relevant legislative planning scheme and policy requirements.
- Respond in a courteous and professional manner to public counter, written and telephone enquirers by providing accurate planning advice regarding Council's planning responsibilities and policies.
- Apply town planning knowledge and identify appropriate methods and techniques to solve problems and satisfactorily complete tasks in conjunction with the Manager Planning and Building, Senior Coordinator Statutory Planning or Coordinator Statutory Planning.
- Assess Secondary Consents, Condition 1 plans, Demolition Consents, extension of time applications, and Sustainable Development Design submissions, including Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and Environmentally Sensitive Design (ESD), with confidence.
Skills & Experience
- Commitment to the Council's values, goals, and objectives.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Urban Planning or related discipline is essential.
- Some relevant experience in Statutory Planning is desirable.
- Some knowledge of processes, planning schemes, planning legislation and other applicable legislation such as for Liquor Licenses and Subdivisions.
- Strong administrative skills, able to achieve objectives efficiently within resource and timeline constraints.
- Effective presentation skills.
- The ability to provide prompt, accurate, courteous and consistent customer services.
