Hockey SA is the peak body representing the game of hockey in South Australia. Hockey SA is made up from metropolitan and regional associations and represents almost 7000 members. Hockey SA members range from the age of 5 – 75 with strong representation across age, gender and all abilities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Administration Executive, the Maintenance Officer is a part-time role responsible for assisting in the general maintenance and upkeep of the State Hockey Centre, including minor repairs and presentation of the facility. The role will be 2 days a week (minimum of 15 hours). The role would suit someone wanting some extra work hours while studying, or a retiree who is looking for “hobby” work to fill up their week.
Key Accountabilities
- coordinate large-scale repairs, maintenance and modifications
- cleaning
- lawns and spraying
- aspects of Event set up
- Ensuring the Hockey State Centre is maintained and presented at a high standard at all times
- Plan, schedule and undertake preventative, urgent and ad-hoc general maintenance and repairs
- Carry out general and specialised cleaning tasks when required
- Liaise with external stakeholders and providers to maintain the facilities. This may include but not limited to the following:
- At times, the Maintenance Officer will have to complete the above maintenance tasks or assist with them
- General upkeep of the facility and grounds
- Support set up and clean up of onsite events including but not limited to game days, major events and meetings/conferences
- Role will be 2 days a week minimum (15 hours)
- Work outside of 9-5pm Monday to Friday may be required from time to time
Remuneration
Hockey South Australia will offer a $55,000 salary (full-time equivalent) + superannuation.
Experience, Skills and Attributes
- Remains neat, tidy and clean to all users
- Adheres to all health and safety regulations
- Can problem solve outside of the box with equipment provided to them.
- The ideal candidate will have creativity and flexibility to complete several different tasks that assist with creating a venue that:
- You can self-manage and have initiative
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to deadlines
- Ability to take direction and work efficiently
- Relevant trades and certificates, including First Aid or a White Card, are desirable but not required
