Preschool Director/Nominated Supervisor
Permanent Part Time – 4 days a week
A wonderful opportunity has become available to join our beautiful preschool at Willow Tree.
Willow Tree Preschool is a 14 place community-based service which has been operating for over 30 years catering for 3-5 year old children. The preschool provides an exceptional service, meeting or exceeding all National Quality Standards for early childhood education.
Picturesque Willow Tree is located on the Liverpool Plains and boasts facilities beyond its size including the renowned Graze Willow Tree Inn and Plains Pantry Gourmet Grocer. Located on the New England Highway, Willow Tree is 15 minutes to Quirindi, 50 minutes to major regional centre Tamworth and an easy 2.5 hour drive south to Newcastle.
Willow Tree Preschool provides an inclusive, play based learning environment to promote the wellbeing and development of children. Based on the campus of Willow Tree Public School, a K-6 school that provides a wonderful learning environment for ~50 children, the role is supported by two highly skilled and capable early childhood educators as well as a highly skilled book keeper.
As a teaching director, you will lead, guide and support staff in providing a quality education and care service. You will also be hands-on with the children and families and work with a passionate education team. The role is supported by our volunteer management committee, local community and staff at Willow Tree Public School who all strongly value early childhood educators and education.
The position package includes:
- Permanent part-time position (4 days per week) to commence 30 January, 2023
- Operating NSW School’s Term calendar, inclusive of 11-12 weeks school holiday
- A balance of hands on teaching and administration
- Wages to be negotiated based on qualifications and experience
Essential criteria:
- Hold a Diploma Level qualification, Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching or equivalent) or are currently working toward as per regulation 242 of the National Regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop relationships, and engage children, staff, parents, committee members and community.
- Demonstrated capability to lead the collaborative design, implementation and evaluation of learning programs
- Sound understanding of Education and Care Services National Regulations and Education and Care National Law, National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning Framework, Quality Improvement Plants and Workplace Health and Safety
- Current qualifications in First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma management
- Approved Child Protection Training and Working with Children’s Check
- Experience not essential but desirable
