About the role:
Berengarra School is seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated, and passionate Classroom Teacher. The role involves teaching across year levels 10-12, delivering both the Victorian Certificate Education Vocational Major (VCE VM) and the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire, and improve student attainment
- Monitor student outcomes and provide regular reporting and feedback to track progress and improve student performance
- Participate in a culture that is committed to student wellbeing
- Work with students, staff, and parents to promote learning, caring and respectful relationships
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Bachelor or higher qualification In Education (Secondary)
- VIT Registration or the ability to register with the VIT
- Ability to teach a wide curriculum and to demonstrate effective teaching practices
- Demonstrated effective classroom management of students
- Up to date knowledge of contemporary teaching application and theory
- Current full Victorian Driver’s Licence
Desirable:
- Current First Aid qualification
- Higher degree in or \and experience in special education, learning diversity or\and student wellbeing
- Experience teaching students with social\emotional disability or disability
- Knowledge of VCE VM and VPC programs

Berengarra School is an independent, not-for-profit, co-educational secondary school for students who have had significant difficulties in mainstream education settings. All students who attend Berengarra School have social and/or emotional disability, that have contributed to their difficulties remaining engaged in education.
Berengarra School has two campuses, the Box Hill Campus with 50 Year 7-10 students studying the Victorian Curriculum and the Chadstone Campus with 30 Year 10-12 students where the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) and VCE Vocational Major (VM) is delivered.
