The Company:
Steersons is a waterfront steakhouse located in the Barangaroo / King St Wharf dining precinct. We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Bartender to join our fabulous team.

With over 150 wines and 60+ whiskies, Steersons offers the perfect steak experience with an awesome beverage line up.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily running of the bar and making it their own. Expect a corporate crowd mid week, and a fun and vibrant atmosphere over the weekend.

The Position:
We are looking for someone who is able to work a rotating roster (primarily evenings), has a passion for the bar, and has the strength and composure to work under pressure. Wine and beer pouring service is primarily the focus mid week, with cocktails popular across Friday and the weekend.

Primary Duties include:

• Prepare and Serve Drinks: Mix, garnish, and serve beverages, including classic cocktails, craft drinks, and non-alcoholic options, accurately and efficiently.
• Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming guests, taking drink orders, and answering any questions regarding the menu or drink options.
• Maintain Cleanliness and Organisation: Keep the bar area clean and organised by regularly wiping surfaces, cleaning glassware, and following hygiene standards.
• Manage Bar Inventory: Monitor stock levels of spirits, beer, wine, mixers, and other supplies, and communicate with management about needed restocks or reorders.
• Stock Rotation: Handle wine, beer (keg) and spirit deliveries. Deliver to appropriate location and rotate between cellar and restaurant.
• Operate POS System: Handle payments accurately by processing transactions using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Check Customer IDs: Verify legal drinking age of customers by checking valid identification to comply with alcohol regulations as required.
• Prepare Garnishes and Mixes: Prepare drink garnishes (e.g., lime wedges, orange slices) and pre-made mixers to speed up service during peak hours.
• Upsell and Recommend Menu Items: Suggest premium or signature drinks to guests to enhance their experience and increase sales.
• Support Team Members: Assist waitstaff and other team members by delivering drinks for table service and helping with cleanup.
• Cross Training: There will be some cross training undertaken on Front of House procedures - taking simple orders and delivering food to tables.

You can expect 30+ hours per week, however we are happy to tailor the hours based on any current commitments (e.g study or a 2nd job).
