Your part in our Lifeline team

With a wide range of services that provide support to vulnerable individuals, families and communities in metropolitan, regional and remote locations across the State, you’ll create positive change in the lives of others when you work with the Lifeline team.

Our Kunda Park Lifeline Warehouse are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated person to support our Distribution Team as a Distribution Centre Assistant on a Casual basis.

Applicants should be physically fit as this position requires manual lifting.

Should you accept the challenge, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
− Bagging of rags to operational standards in preparation for dispatch.
− Operate baling machine to support export production and facilitate the storage of goods.
− Manually move crates/items to ensure that the process line has a continual supply of stock for
production.
− Assist with loading and unloading of trucks and containers.
• Maintain work stations and storage areas in a clean and tidy manner, in accordance with workplace health and
safety regulations, including moving stock and rubbish to allocated areas.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in a fully operational condition and report any maintenance or safety issues to
relevant supervisor.
• Ensure all paperwork relative to your role is recorded accurately and on a daily basis.
• Responsible for the quality of their own work subject to detailed direction.
• Exercises discretion within their level of skills and training.
• Maintain confidentiality and privacy in all matters relating to staff, customers, procedures and security.
• Undertake other duties as directed by your supervisor within the scope of the position and abide by all relevant
policies, procedures, standards and legislation as they apply to the position.
• Act as a customer focused, values based team member and work collaboratively with other UnitingCare
Community staff and volunteers to achieve strong results across all the activities provided by the Directorate.

What makes a difference for us?

To be successful in this role, we will be looking for the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment is desirable.
  • A Forklift Licence is desirable.
  • Applicants should be physically fit as this position requires manual lifting.
  • Previous experience working within a warehousing environment with skills in stock control, rotation and order picking
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and eagerness to learn the fundamentals of all Store and Distribution roles, including but not limited to customer service and stock control.
  • Ability to communicate
  • Setting and exceeding priorities to meet daily deadlines; developing plans to meet short-term objectives
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational and planning skills
  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills

The inherent requirements of this role are physically demanding you will need to be physically fit with the capability to complete tasks that require regular lifting, standing and walking.
