We are currently seeking the services of an experienced Drill Rig Fitter to join our field maintenance team to maintain our fleet of field equipment. This role will service our Eastern Australia Ops, on a 1 week on / 1 week off, or 2weeks on / 2 weeks off roster cycle working 12hr shifts. A 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster can be considered.
The successful applicant will be a minimum Certificate III trade qualified diesel fitter or heavy duty plant mechanic.
We are seeking a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position / role, with a sound knowledge of (but not limited to):
- Land based drill rigs Diamond and RC rigs (KWL – SCHRAMM - UDR)
- Support equipment trucks (Merc Benz – Tatra – Isuzu trucks)
- Compressed air systems (Sulliar)
- Boosted air systems (Air Research/ Hurricane)
- Light vehicle fleets
- And associated ancillary drilling equipment (lighting plants, forklifts, mud pumps, trailers)
You must have:
- Minimum Certificate III trade qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position / role
- Good time management skills and an ability to self-manage, as well as be able to work unsupervised in a team environment
- A proven ability to trouble shoot and carry out quality repairs on diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and high pressure air systems
- Experience with electrical and computer controlled systems would be an advantage
- A proven ability to follow maintenance management protocols and systems
- Pass a client specific medical including drug and alcohol testing
- Hold a minimum HR licence (preferred)
- Current National Police Clearance
- Good communication skills, and ability to interact with all staff members and clients in a professional manner
- Follow health and safety guidelines of both FORACO and any contracted company in which employed
