About the School of Education
The School of Education at Western Sydney University is a leader in shaping the future of teaching through innovative programs that inspire and empower educators. The School offers a diverse range of initial teacher education programs in primary, secondary, and early childhood education, including a dedicated undergraduate degree in primary teacher education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. About the Opportunity
The School of Education is seeking an accomplished Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer, Early Childhood Education to join our expanding, dynamic and innovative team.

In this role, the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will make a significant contribution to the development of future early childhood educators by leading teaching, curriculum development, and research in early childhood education, The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will also have the opportunity to supervise Masters and PhD students, mentor early-career researchers, and foster collaborations with industry partners to drive impactful education research.

The School of Education is committed to supporting its academic staff in achieving research excellence. The School will support the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to make significant contributions to high-quality research, publish in leading national and international journals, and secure competitive external research funding.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Western’s Bankstown City Campus, although travel to other campuses of the University may be required. Please review the position description for further information.

Who we’re looking for
We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking educator and researcher who is passionate about shaping the next generation of Early Childhood teachers. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A Higher Degree (PhD or EdD) in Education.
  • A strong background in quality and innovative teaching, with expertise in contemporary curriculum design, development, delivery, and assessment.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and teaching within early childhood education.
  • A demonstrated ability to progress research initiatives through high-quality publications.
  • The capability to mentor and supervise honours and higher-degree research students.
  • Established partnerships with schools and industry that support impactful research and teaching collaborations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders in both academic and professional settings.

Remuneration Package:

  • For appointment at Lecturer: Academic Level B $139,458 to $164,559 p.a. (comprising Salary of $117,844 to $139,151 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
  • For appointment at Senior Lecturer: Academic Level C $169,542 to $194,484 p.a. (comprising Salary of $143,410 to $164,728 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
