At Collarts, students come first. We are proud to welcome a diverse range of learners to our VET and HE courses, and see difference as powerful. We are committed to making Collarts increasingly accessible, improving inclusion by partnering with students to understand their lived experience and change Collarts for the better. We want to provide students with an exceptional student experience from onboarding through to graduation. The Events Coordinator is key contributor to our student experience.

About us:

Collarts (and its predecessor, Ausmusic) began more than 30 years ago with just three programs, a handful of students, and a small team of passionate lecturers. Founded on music and audio – a proudly rock’n’roll start – we’ve grown into one of Australia’s leading creative education providers.

Today, operating as Collarts, we teach more than 2,000 students from over 30 countries across four campuses and in 50 partner high schools. We offer 24 degree programs and 5 vocational certificates, and are ranked Australia #1 Creative Arts Course Provider according to the 2024 Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) national surveys. Our community includes ARIA Award winners, renowned actors and playwrights, leading film directors, DOLBY Atmos practitioners, and some of Australia’s most respected educators and creative industry professionals.

In 2024, we launched our new strategic plan, Creativity on Purpose: a bold roadmap focused on reach, engagement, sustainability, and quality. Already, we’ve achieved major milestones:

Launched Collarts Online, offering high-quality, interactive programs designed to fit flexibly around life and work.

Partnered with the National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA), accrediting their world-class courses and creating new opportunities for collaboration and creative pathways.

Earned external endorsement as a high-quality, self-accrediting provider and continue to build momentum towards University College status.

Introduced new postgraduate programs, including the Master of Creative Industries and Master of Design, empowering the next generation of creative leaders.

Looking ahead, we’re expanding our reach into new markets, developing industry-led postgraduate education, and investing in world-class online and on-campus experiences. With a national reputation for excellence and innovation, Collarts continues to champion creativity with purpose: equipping students, graduates and staff to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Join us as we shape the future of creative education in Australia.

The role:

Join Collarts as our Events Coordinator and play a pivotal role in planning, managing, and delivering standout events—including Graduation ceremonies, Open Days, Orientation Week, and Welcome Fest activities. You’ll work closely with campus teams, student interns, and the Student Operations department to ensure every event is executed smoothly, on time, and within budget.

In this dynamic role, you’ll coordinate industry engagement opportunities that grow Collarts’ brand and connections within the creative industries. You’ll support the negotiation and management of contracts, develop and implement an annual campus activation plan, and leverage partnerships to enrich the student experience.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on building strong relationships, collaborating with academic staff and colleagues across the organisation, and maintaining effective internal communications. You’ll also oversee event promotion, manage budgets, evaluate outcomes, and drive continuous improvement by gathering feedback and staying up-to-date with trends in event management and student engagement.

What we are looking for:

To thrive in this role, you’ll have a Bachelor’s degree in communications, events management, business, creative industries, or marketing, along with at least two years’ experience in events, partnerships, industry engagement, or project management. You’ll bring a strong understanding of the creative industries in Australia and know how to create and nurture meaningful sector connections. End-to-end event management is second nature to you—from briefing and coordination to budgeting and invoicing—and you’re adept at juggling tight timelines and competing priorities. Your creative thinking, excellent communication, and strong collaboration skills help you generate fresh ideas and deliver outstanding student engagement. Most importantly, you’re skilled at building positive relationships with students, staff, industry partners, and suppliers, ensuring every event is a success.

If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality events, fostering a vibrant campus culture, and making a lasting impact at Collarts, we’d love to hear from you.
