This role suits a technically strong and strategically minded professional who blends software engineering depth with a deep understanding of secure system design and cyber resilience. The position sits within a Defence product development environment supporting next generation aerospace technology.
The ideal person is not a traditional security specialist but a software specialist who understands process, security compliance, and how to translate complex requirements into practical, secure engineering outcomes.

Key Focus Areas:
• Lead the integration of security principles across the software engineering lifecycle within a Defence product development context
• Collaborate with DevOps and compliance teams to ensure secure by design delivery
• Drive automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code initiatives within secure engineering frameworks
• Apply ISM and Defence compliance standards with a pragmatic and outcome driven approach
• Translate security and business requirements into actionable engineering solutions

Ideal Background:
• Strong foundation in software engineering and DevOps practices
• Experience in cyber engineering or secure software development within Defence or regulated industries
• Familiarity with ISM, DSPF and Authority to Operate processes
• NV2 preferred, NV1 or ability to obtain minimum
