About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cook/steward to join our dynamic team at Ibis Sydney World Square. As a part-time Cook/steward, you will be responsible for preparing the breakfast buffet food and completing breakfast stewarding in our 3-star hotel restaurant, located in the heart of Sydney's CBD.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes and procedures

Complete food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients

Ensure the kitchen is well-stocked and organised, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety

Ensuring that the service runs smoothly by keeping up with all dishwashing and stewarding tasks

Work independently and keep all breakfast food preparation on track

Collaborate with the front of house team to deliver exceptional customer service and a positive dining experience

Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations

Undertake any other duties as required to support the smooth running of the kitchen

What we're looking for

Relevant experience as a Cook or in a similar culinary role, preferably within the hospitality industry

Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations

Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, self-driven environment

Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with hotel and front-of-house teams

Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene

Flexible and adaptable to accommodate the needs of the business
