About the Legal Aid NT:
Legal Aid NT is an independent statutory authority established under the Legal Aid Act 1990 (NT). Our purpose is to ensure that people in the Northern Territory understand their legal rights and disadvantaged people have access to quality legal services, and to uphold a fair Northern Territory and national justice system.
About the role:
Under the supervision of the CLE Coordinator, the Community Legal Educator provides information and education about the law, legal rights, and processes to benefit community members and service providers in the Northern Territory. The Community Legal Educator will work as part of a team implementing the Legal Aid NT Community Legal Education Strategy with diverse groups and programs that change over time.
About you:
This position requires an energetic and self-motivated individual with well-developed communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. You will demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. The role also requires the ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgement, and apply well-developed problem-solving skills.
You will have demonstrated experience in project coordination, including planning, implementation, and evaluation, together with a commitment to community engagement, quality service delivery and an interest in early intervention and prevention services.
