About the job:
The Operations Manager is a key member of the Port Leadership Team, ensuring consistency and operational efficiency in service delivery across the port. Reporting to the Airport Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for:
Supporting Day of Operations Planning, by optimising resource deployment to achieve efficient operational coverage and maximise service delivery quality;
Managing Training Compliance, by ensuring effective training planning and delivery, maintaining the training matrix and overseeing quality record keeping across all functions; and
Managing GSE Requirements, by conducting audits, organising servicing and maintenance, scheduling, entry to service requirements and quality record keeping of GSE
The Operations Manager has a strong focus on coordinating, coaching, and supporting key roles and team members to ensure operations are running in a safe, systematic and efficient manner with a focus on service delivery excellence. The Operations Manager will play a key role in supporting functions for the Airport Manager.
Your work will include:
Manage the planning and allocation of teams and resources for all ‘day of operations’ tasks and functions, ensuring optimisation of planning, service delivery and quality outcomes
Monitor flight information using various software tools and data feeds associated with Star Aviation customers to effectively manage resources for delays, tail swaps or change in schedules, including the forward planning of any required resource adjustments in accordance with contractual arrangements and service level agreements.
Co-ordinate, support and coach Team Leaders and team members to ensure efficient and safe operations, delivering service excellence for our customers.
Manage and oversee roster publication to ensure optimal operational efficiency through effective planning and management of resources
Attend various meetings as required with airlines, customers and relevant stakeholders, representing both the Airline and Star to the highest-level ensuring customer satisfaction.
Manage all training and compliance requirements for the port, including effective planning, and the capacity to act as a ‘Trainer’ where required.
Manage and maintain the Training Matrix and training files to ensure quality record keeping with accurate and compliant data for team members.
Manage the suite of GSE for port, inclusive of service scheduling, entry to service requirements and ongoing maintenance programs, ensuring accurate record keeping
Support Airport Manager functions as required
We’re looking for someone who is highly competent and has previous experience in the operational requirements of ground handling across above and below wing operations and can develop and implement business improvements. To succeed, you'll need to be able to manage, motivate and lead teams, excellent time management skills, work in a fast-paced environment and be customer focused in your service.
Mandatory requirement
The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC). To be eligible, you must hold valid photo identification and successfully meet all background and security clearance requirements.
