Your new role
As Garden Maintenance Team Leader, you will oversee a small, skilled crew delivering premium garden care across a variety of residential and commercial sites. Your role combines hands-on horticultural expertise with leadership, ensuring each project is completed to the company's exacting standards of quality, safety, and presentation. You'll be responsible for scheduling daily tasks, coordinating site operations, training team members, and maintaining open communication with clients to ensure exceptional service outcomes. This position plays a vital role in upholding the organisation's reputation for precision, reliability, and sustainable landscape management. Success in this role means consistently maintaining thriving, well-presented gardens that reflect the company's values of care, craftsmanship, and innovation while fostering team cohesion and contributing to the continued growth of its maintenance division.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Proven experience in garden maintenance or landscape management, ideally in a leadership or supervisory capacity
- Strong horticultural knowledge, including plant care, pruning, fertilising, and irrigation systems
- Ability to lead, motivate, and train a small team to achieve high-quality outcomes
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to coordinate multiple sites efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining presentation standards across all projects
- Ability to communicate professionally with clients and team members, ensuring clear expectations and feedback
- Sound understanding of WHS practices and safe equipment operation
- Current driver's licence and ability to tow trailers or operate small machinery
- Certificate III or higher in Horticulture or equivalent experience highly regarded
- Physically fit, reliable, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership over work quality
- Positive, team-oriented attitude aligned with a culture of care, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement
