About the role

The Senior Grants and Project Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating grant programs and strategic projects that support the protection, sustainable management, and promotion of Tasmania’s historic heritage. This role plays a key part in delivering Heritage Tasmania’s initiatives through effective project planning, stakeholder engagement, and high-quality grant administration.

  • Lead the development and delivery of heritage related projects and grant programs.
  • Manage all stages of grant lifecycles, including promotion, assessment, acquittal, and evaluation.
  • Develop tools, templates, and resources to support effective grant management.
  • Conduct compliance and quality reviews of grant processes and outcomes.

Our ideal candidate has

  • Demonstrated expertise in public sector grant management or related fields, with experience in administering programs like the Built Heritage Grant Scheme.
  • Sound written skills to prepare high-level documentation including Ministerial briefings, Cabinet submissions, and reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence outcomes.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.
