Bakers Family Medical Center is located in Toowoomba, where we are passionate about providing first class medical care to all people who attend. We are seeking two dedicated Practice Nurses to join our Team.

About the Role

Our Medical Center provides affordable and accessible services to our patients. We are seeking for 2 Registered Nurses to join our team in the Treatment Room and in our Care Plan and Health Assessment portion of our Practice. There is two permanent placements - a total of 60 hours a week. We are flexible in these positions which could be a full time position of 38 hours, and a part time position of 22 hours, or two positions of 30 hours.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with our general practitioners, practice staff and other relevant care providers to provide integrated care for our patients.

The suitable candidate will be competent in providing comprehensive healthcare to our patients including childhood vaccinations, wound management, health assessments and care plans. Training will be given if required.

New graduate nurses are welcome to apply for this position.

Key Responsibilities include:

Vaccinations, both child and adult

Wound Care

Assisting GP with procedures including excision of lesions

Performing ECGs

Performing spirometry

Performing audiograms

Performing ABIs

Venepuncture preferred

Venepuncture training will be provided for candidates without prior experience

Pre-employment Medicals

Drug Screens

Health assessments

Preparation and review of care plans

Able to work well with Allied Health Providers

Assisting the GP with the management of the annual diabetes and asthma cycles of care

Health coaching to support patients with achievement of their health goals

Effective management of patient reminder systems

Coordination, management and maintenance of patient clinical data

Monitoring of patient clinical outcomes

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with previous experience in care plan/health assessment coordination and experience with chronic disease management and a treatment room nurse.

Candidates with any level of nursing experience will be considered for this position and training offered if required.

You would possess:

Current RN AHPRA registration

Previous care plan/health assessment experience is desirable

Candidates without care plan/health assessment experience can be trained on the job

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Well-presented

Current Drivers License

Evidence of vaccination/immunity history for Hepatitis B, MMR, dTpa, Varicella and other vaccination requested by our Doctors

Eligibility to work in Australia required
