Manager, Warragul Community House

Part-time, 21 hours per week + up to additional 5 hours per month | Warragul, VIC

Warragul Community House is seeking a values-driven Manager to lead our vibrant organisation.

In this role you will:

- Lead and support staff and volunteers so they feel valued, included, and know the difference their work makes.

- Oversee operations, budgets, compliance, and reporting with confidence and care.

- Balance day-to-day business with exploring innovative approaches and advocating for the value and impact of community houses.

About you
You’ll bring leadership experience (community services, not-for-profit, social enterprise, or values-led business), strong people and communication skills, and the ability to work well with a volunteer committee of governance.

Formal qualifications are highly regarded, but not essential. We welcome applications from people who bring relevant skills and experience — whether gained through work, volunteering, or lived experience in community settings.

The reality check
This job is meaningful and community-focused, but it’s not always easy. Some days are busy and unpredictable, others are steady and routine. You’ll need to juggle competing needs, funding requirements, and the expectations of both staff and community. If you can balance this while keeping an eye on the bigger picture, you’ll find it’s deeply rewarding work.

You won’t be on your own — you’ll be well supported by an engaged and committed Committee of Governance, who value the Manager’s leadership and provide guidance and encouragement along the way.

- Classification: Social and Community Services Employee Level 7 under the SCHCADS Award and the Neighbourhood Houses and Adult and Community Education Centres Collective Agreement 2024
