Strategic Projects Manager

Your new company

Join a respected local council in the Sydney metro area as they embark on a major initiative to refine their business strategy and enhance their strategic planning framework. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on hands-on work in corporate planning, performance analysis, and strategic reporting-without the responsibility of managing a team.

Your new role

As a Strategic Projects Manager for Corporate Planning, you will be directly responsible for developing and delivering key components of the council's Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to support the development of the 4-year Delivery Program, improve planning processes, and provide performance insights that drive informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain corporate planning documents, including the Delivery Program, Operational Plan, and associated reports.
  • Conduct performance analysis and prepare reports using data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather input and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Support the implementation of business planning and performance measurement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning and reporting processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of council reports, briefings, and presentations related to corporate planning and performance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience in corporate or strategic planning, ideally within a government or public sector context.
  • Familiarity with the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with performance data and reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

What you'll get in return

  • $75 per hour + Super.
  • Hybrid work model (2 days WFH).
  • Work on meaningful projects that shape the future of the community.
  • A collaborative and supportive environment that values your expertise.
  • Convenient location with public transport access and nearby parking.
