Public Sector People are working with a local government organisation who are seeking an Internal Auditor Officer on a unique 3-month contract + extension.

Full Job Description

• ASAP START | pay rates from $62p/h + super (PAYG)
• Local council | Location - Strathpine
• Initial temp contract until 30th Jan 2026 + extension
• Conversion to perm employment is very likely.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Plan, execute, and report on internal audit engagements with a focus on project governance and delivery
• Evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations
• Provide recommendations to improve project controls, risk mitigation, and value for money
• Collaborate with project teams, PMOs, and senior stakeholders to ensure audit findings are actionable
• Support the development of the annual audit plan with a focus on high-risk projects and programs

About you:

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Agile, PRINCE2).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to manage multiple audit engagements and deliver results within deadlines.
• Available to start ASAP
