Are you passionate about creating vibrant, engaging experiences that put Parramatta on the map? We're seeking an energetic Marketing & Communications Advisor to help shape the city's reputation and drive community engagement through strategic campaigns and memorable events.

About the role

This position is responsible for developing, executing, and optimising strategic marketing and communications campaigns that elevate the profile of Parramatta's events and festivals. The Advisor will create and manage multi-channel promotional initiatives to drive awareness, engagement, and attendance at Council-led events and festivals.

On a daily basis you will:

  • Develop and deliver tactical marketing, communications, and branding initiatives for key city events, festivals and programs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to promote Council services and initiatives, building strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Deliver marketing and promotional activities with a data-driven and digital first mindset, optimising communications, content and creative development suitable for multiple channel applications.
  • Provide insights derived from the collection, analysis and reporting of relevant statistics, industry trends, performance indicators and other evaluation data.
  • Create high-quality, multi-channel content (web, social, email, publications) to inspire and inform our diverse audiences.
  • Champion Parramatta's competitive identity, driving engagement and advocacy among residents, visitors, and businesses.

About You

The successful candidate is a strategic and creative marketing professional with a passion for delivering impactful events, communications, and promotional initiatives.

They will have a tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, public relations or other, related field.

You will also bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in marketing and communications, ideally in events or destination marketing.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong writing, content creation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience in analytics and reporting.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and copyright skills - ability to translate between technical, creative and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate, negotiate, build relationships and influence others with an engaging approach and technique.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $129,776.59 plus 12% superannuation.
