Independent Government Authority is seeking a Ra Infrastructure Senior Project Manager for a 6-month contract.

This Authority is an independent corporate government entity governed by an independent board. Established in 2023, this Authority is overseeing the planning and development of a transformational rail network, connecting Australia's East Coast Cities. They are currently seeking an EL1 Senior Project Manager for an initial 6-month contract with a possible extension, preference to be based in their Sydney office.
Your new role
The Senior Project Manager will lead the strategic planning and delivery of complex infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with government priorities and compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive infrastructure project plans aligned with strategic objectives.
- Apply advanced construction knowledge to develop risk-informed delivery programs and contingency strategies.
- Establish and maintain governance structures ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental, procurement, and legislative frameworks.
- Drive strategic delivery leadership across multidisciplinary teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage procurement strategies and contracts in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
- Provide expert technical oversight, challenge assumptions, and identify value-adding opportunities across engineering disciplines.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders, representing the agency with professionalism and credibility.
- Lead risk, change, and performance management initiatives to ensure delivery assurance and organisational readiness.
What you'll need to succeed
You are an experienced infrastructure professional with a proven track record of leading large-scale, complex projects within government or regulated environments. You bring strategic foresight, technical depth, and a collaborative leadership style that inspires high performance and drives results.
- Demonstrated tertiary qualifications in infrastructure delivery, engineering, or project management
- Extensive experience (5+ years) leading complex infrastructure projects, preferably in rail or transport sectors
- Demonstrated expertise in project management frameworks
- Expertise in project planning - define scope, objectives, deliverables, resource environments, and timeframes ensuring alignment with strategic and operational priorities
- Extensive experience in infrastructure project delivery, preferably within the public sector.
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and procurement frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
- High-level technical proficiency in engineering systems and construction methodologies.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- You must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government baseline clearance.
