The Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our team on a full-time or part-time basis. You'll have the flexibility to work from home, or from our offices in Nelson Bay or Newcastle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety - from bookkeeping and BAS preparation through to assisting with accounting and compliance work.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients

Preparation and lodgement of BAS/IAS

Payroll processing and superannuation compliance

Bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance

Assisting with preparation of financial statements and tax returns

Client support and communication

Contributing to process improvements within the practice

About You

Previous bookkeeping and/or accounting experience in public practice or small business

Minimum 2+ years of bookkeeping and/or accounting experience in public practice or small business

Xero exposure essential (certification highly regarded)

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

Excellent communication skills with a client-friendly approach

Willingness to grow with the business and take on new challenges
