About the Role

Based in our North Strathfield office, with flexible work arrangements available, the Payroll Officer will manage all aspects of payroll for our support workforce for both Sydney and Canberra offices. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you’ll ensure accurate, compliant pay runs while supporting process and system improvements. This role is ideal for someone with solid XERO experience, strong knowledge of the SCHADS Award, and an understanding of NDIS compliance and portable long service leave (PLSL) obligations.

Key Responsibilities

Process weekly and fortnightly payroll using XERO and our internal CRM

Apply SCHADS Award provisions and other industrial instruments

Manage PAYG, superannuation, and PLSL obligations with relevant authorities

Prepare journals and reconciliations; support EOFY and audits

Respond to payroll queries and assist with onboarding and offboarding

Contribute to payroll policy reviews and ongoing improvements

About You

Qualification in Payroll, Accounting, or Bookkeeping

Experience in high-volume payroll environments

Proficient in XERO and Excel

Strong understanding of SCHADS, NES, and employment legislation

Ideally experienced with PLSL schemes

High attention to detail, strong confidentiality, and a proactive mindset
