About Us
Children’s Nursing Queensland is a private paediatric nursing service dedicated to improving the lives of children and families navigating complex health needs. Launched in late 2022, we’ve quickly established ourselves as leaders in paediatric stomal therapy, complex continence management, wound care, and disability support through NDIS assessments and education.
Our small, highly skilled team delivers care across homes in Southeast Queensland, with regular outreach to regional areas and telehealth services available nationwide. We have also expanded our expertise to adult clients through our sister service, Australian Specialist Nurses.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our growing team. You’ll be working autonomously and collaboratively to deliver specialised, client-centred care across various settings – from family homes to virtual consultations.
This role is perfect for someone who is clinically confident, flexible, and driven to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver expert nursing consultancy in areas such as stomal care, complex continence, feeding stomas, and wound management.
Conduct in-home visits, regional outreach trips, and telehealth consultations.
Provide NDIS-related assessments and comprehensive clinical documentation.
Collaborate with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic care planning.
Deliver workshops and training to empower carers and other healthcare providers.
Contribute to the development of our growing service and clinical offerings.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings more than just clinical expertise. You are compassionate, highly organised, and thrive in dynamic, community-based environments.
You’ll need:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Significant experience in paediatric nursing and/or community nursing.
Clinical expertise in one or more of: stomal therapy, continence, wound care, disability, or NDIS assessments.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
A flexible and self-directed work ethic.
Willingness to travel for home visits and outreach (vehicle allowance or company vehicle provided).
Working with Children Check and current CPR certification.
Highly Desirable:
Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant specialty.
Experience working with NDIS participants.
Previous experience in a Clinical Nurse Consultant or advanced practice role.
