An established international business with a leading FMCG portfolio of household brands is seeking a Packaging Technologist to join their team. Reporting to the R&D Lead, you’ll play a key role in new packaging development, optimising existing ranges, and driving the sustainability agenda across the ANZ market.

The Opportunity

In this hands-on role, you’ll design, validate, and implement packaging solutions that balance innovation, cost efficiency, and sustainability. Working closely with cross-functional teams and third-party manufacturers, you’ll ensure packaging meets regulatory compliance and is optimised for the entire supply chain, from production to consumer use.

Key Responsibilitis

• Lead packaging development for new and existing products across multiple FMCG categories.
• Drive the business’ packaging sustainability agenda, focusing on reducing plastic, increasing recycled content, and improving recyclability.
• Liaise with suppliers to source innovative materials and cost-saving packaging solutions.
• Ensure packaging compliance with all regulatory and market-specific requirements.
• Validate packaging designs, conduct trials, and oversee specification control.
• Collaborate with 3rd party manufacturers to deliver packaging projects on time and to specification.

About You

• Degree qualified, ideally with a packaging or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years’ hands-on packaging experience within FMCG or a similar environment.
• Technical knowledge of corrugated cardboard, rigid/flexible plastics, and barrier properties.
• Experience working with 3rd party manufacturing companies.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Passion for sustainable packaging and continuous improvement.
