About Us:
Bila Community Group is a dedicated NDIS service provider, offering support to individuals living with disabilities. Our culturally diverse team is committed to improving the lives of our participants. We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This role is vital to maintaining the financial integrity and compliance of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and present financial statements for boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing/statutory bodies.
Ensure accuracy and compliance in financial reports according to statutory requirements.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Assist with month-end processes, prepare monthly budgets, and conduct financial forecasting to inform business decisions.
Cost Analysis & Expenditure:
Examine operating costs, income, and expenditure to identify areas for financial efficiency and improvement.
Payroll Management:
Finalise fortnightly payroll for over 70 support workers and weekly payroll for over 10 administrative staff, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
Financial Operations:
Oversee day-to-day financial operations such as invoicing, accounts receivable/payable (AR/AP), bank reconciliation, and other transactions.
Fund Management & Risk Appraisal:
Manage company funds and maintain internal control systems to safeguard financial resources.
Appraise cash flow, evaluate financial risks of capital investment projects, and ensure long-term financial stability.
Collaboration with CFO and Tax Accountant:
Liaise closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to support the overall financial health and strategy of the organization.
Liaise with external tax agent for lodgement of company tax returns
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
Proven experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within the NDIS or healthcare sector
Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, accounting standards, and statutory regulations
Experience with payroll systems and financial software Xero
NDIS Scheduling system Caremaster
High attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders at all levels
